Inevitable Dreams

“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable,
and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.”

Have you ever awoken from a dream wishing it was reality?

A year ago, I dreamed about going sleep walking on the National Mall to raise awareness about narcolepsy and sleep. I was disappointed to wake up and find it wasn’t true… yet.

I’d been trying to think of something spectacular to do for National Sleep Awareness Week. This was my “Aha!” moment.  With just 10 days to prepare, I organized SLEEP WALK 2011.

Seven people joined me, a radiant and joyful group of walkers. It was a great day, but I must admit, in my dream – there had been more people wearing matching t-shirts.

It is with great pleasure that I announce SLEEP WALK 2012 for Saturday March 10th 2012 from 9am-12noon. I’m hosting this event with Wake Up Narcolepsy, a non-profit dedicated to narcolepsy research and awareness.

Please visit  Wake Up Narcolepsy to view details and to register today. The event is free and the first 100 people to register get a FREE SLEEP WALK T-SHIRT (at the event)!!

Hope to see you soon,
Julie (a.k.a. the REM Runner)

Can’t make it to DC to SLEEP WALK?

You are such an inspiration Julie. We are both doing such great things right now! I love knowing that I am not alone on the new paths we are carving out for others. Thank you!
