Narcolepsy is one of the most common causes of chronic sleepiness, according to this New England Journal of Medicine article. Narcolepsy is a neurological disorder of the sleep/wake cycle affecting 200,000 Americans and 3 million people around the world, but it is misunderstood and under-diagnosed. By sharing my story on the Sleep Success Summit, perhaps someone out there fighting excruciating sleepiness and other invisible symptoms may start connecting the dots and seek help sooner by consulting a narcolepsy specialist, neurologist or sleep doctor.

    Hi, Unfortunatly, I missed your talk on the sumit on Monday, and yours was the one I was most interested in.
    Where is the best place for me to start to figure out if I have narcolepsy. I cannot get my GP to help me.(typical)
    I’ve been nodding off for most of my life. It’s my normal. I’m finally realizing I might be able to change this.
