NARCOLEPSY: NOT ALONE Runs Great Ocean Road Marathon in Australia
Just 9 days until my marathon and I’m super inspired by Louise, Jacob and their crew of 20 people who sported NARCOLEPSY: NOT ALONE for the Great Ocean Road Marathon in Australia last weekend. 12 runners wore the shirts (including 3 young doctors who have promised to spread the word amongst their peers!), and 8 in the support team.
Louise describes, “Whilst gathering to start, a woman came running over to me and grabbed me, wanting to know what my t-shirt was about and how she could get in contact with me. She has a 13 year old son with narcolepsy and became very emotional when I told her about Julie Flygare, and Narcolepsy Support Australia. She took photos of the NNA logo and was very very grateful. Before we even started it seemed like the whole exercise had been totally worthwhile!”
If this isn’t inspiring, I don’t know what is! Many thanks to Louise, Jacob and their NARCOLEPSY: NOT ALONE team of supporters for raising such vital awareness. As I prepare for my own race, my heart is full of joy. Together, we are chasing down a brighter future for narcolepsy, one step at a time.
