Narcolepsy Lunch Break Webinar

Narcolepsy Webinar Julie Flygare ASBA

Join me this Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 1:30 p.m. ET for a very special free online event – I will be hosting a Lunch Break Educational Webinar with the American Sleep and Breathing Academy. Register here.

When: Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET
Debunking the Narcolepsy Myth
A Presentation by: Julie Flygare, JD

Narcolepsy is a serious neurological disorder affecting 1 in every 2,000 people, yet it is often perceived as a joke. Julie began experiencing mysterious symptoms at age 22 while in law school. She was diagnosed with a serious case of narcolepsy with cataplexy at age 24.

In this presentation, Julie describes hiding her narcolepsy from others to avoid prejudice before deciding to speak out and break the cycle of misunderstanding. For Julie, sickness has been a second chance at life – and by standing up for what she believes in, Julie has become a catalyst for change, giving others the courage to stand tall and proud while overcoming adversity.

Packed with personal stories, vivid descriptions and visuals, this webinar offers a unique first-hand look at living well with narcolepsy.

Topics Include:
  • Symptom Development
  • Path to Diagnosis
  • Treating Narcolepsy
  • Raising Awareness about Narcolepsy
  • Q&A

This is my favorite presentation to give and I’m honored to share it in ASBA’s Lunch Break CSTE program. Thank you to ASBA for generously extending this invitation to allow the general public to listen in and participate!

Hi Julie! I tried to log in to the webinar with my Gotomeeting registration link about 5 minutes late and it was full. Do you know if a recording will be available online? Or do you have a similar webinar available online to watch? Thanks for doing such good work! 🙂

Christy – I’m so very sorry for everyone who tried to attend and were told it was full. Over 1,500 people attended, which created some technical issues for the organizer. There will be a recording available online and I will share this as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your support and patience!
