Speaking at Patients as Partners Conference
On Monday, March 16, 2015, I was honored to speak at Patients as Partners, a conference dedicated to finding solutions on how to truly partner with patients in clinical trials. Representatives from pharma, PCORI, CTTI, FasterCures, FDA, patient advocates and patients all came together in Philadelphia for this important discussion.
Many role-models and friends were in attendance and speaking -innovative movers and shakers challenging the status-quo in healthcare and drug development to ensure that the patient voice is included.
My presentation, “How a Patient Helped Define a New Clinical Endpoint in Narcolepsy”, shared my story of helping to define a new clinical endpoint with FDA and what this can mean for the future of the drug development.
Afterward, I joined a panel on how to get the patient voice into the regulatory process with Anna McCollister-Slipp , Patient Representative with type 1 diabetes and Co-Founder of Galileo Analytics, and Theresa Mullin, Ph.D. , Director of FDA’s Office of Strategic Programs. Dr. Mullin is a personal hero of mine, so to share the stage with her was surreal and unforgettable.
Thank you to Valerie and the Conference Forum for putting together a thought-provoking and inspiring conference.
