Meet a Superstar: BMX Track Racing with Narcolepsy
Meet Xander, a 4-year-old superstar with narcolepsy living in Canada. Xander has big bike racing dreams and isn’t letting his narcolepsy slow him down. Watch Xander fly by in this video:
This was Xander’s first Bmx Bootcamp for the season. Bmx track racing is a form of off-road bicycle racing, derived from motocross racing. I worked with Xander’s mom this past week to provide narcolepsy resources and fact sheets to educate the track authorities on the REAL symptoms of narcolepsy.
“I rode like a boss!” exclaims Xander after each ride. His track nickname is “Superstar” after big pro riders called him this during a performance in which he rode out on Bmx in the opening of the show with big pro stars. It really drives him knowing these guys thought he was a “superstar” to them.
Please join me in cheering for Xander, one of our superstars with narcolepsy. Xander – you are overcoming adversity daily and pursuing your dreams. You’re an inspiration to me and many others.
Go Xander, go!
